Lanvin showoff!

This has been my favorite fashiondrawing since I was around 10 years old:

So when I saw the pictures launched with the news, that Jeanne Lanvin office will be opened for the public, I really started to hate the fact, that I don’t live in Paris, and I don’t have a private jet, that could just take me there whenever I’d like!

American Eagle/Beagle!?

American Eagle Outfitters has released a collection under the name “American Beagle Outfitters” and the newly released look book is starring cool puppies! Dogs have been a fashionistas best friend for a long time now, but the doggies are only getting more fashionable with this new collection, there is raising money to benefit the ASPCA!

Watch the doggie-collection here!

Rihanna Takes over the Fashion World!

Rihanna has just been named a fashion icon at the CFDA fashion Award! I’ve never really thought of the singer as a fashion icon, though she has a controversial style. Here is some of my favorite looks from Paris Fashion Week, where she stole the spotlight completely!

rihanna1 rihanna2 rihanna3 rihanna4 rihanna5 rihanna6 rihanna7Especially the nude look in the net body by Wolford caught the eyes of everyone – no wonder! I think it’s kind of cool the way she goes over the edge, though I normally wouldn’t consider her “Fashion Icon Material”, but maybe fashion is changing?

The Little Mermaid as a fashion tramp!

It seems like The Little Mermaid is the next big fashion movie! According to rumors, Sofia Coppola will be the producer behind the movie, so as a fashionista, there is no way around it – though the costumes my be questionable! Wether you should start dressing like a mermaid or The Little Mermaid will start dressing like you (or perhaps like Miley Cyrus) is still unknown, but if you want to be ahead fashion-wise, it seems like you’ll have to take a look towards the sea!

And take a look at her shoes 😉

Is sneaks becoming a “fashion girl thing”?

There is no way around it – sneakers are a fashion girls “new best friend”! With appearance on the runway at Chanel and Dior – it seems like I have to admit, that sneaks are here to stay (at least for a little while), so I’ve picked out my favorite ones, in case I decide to join the “fashion girl league”, and become a sneakerhead!

He’s everywhere!

Karl Lagerfeld is everywhere right now!

First there was the fuss about the campaign he shot for his new Fragrance!

Karl-Lagerfeld-Fragrance-campaign-thbThen there was the fuss about him showcasing pictures of his beloved cat Choupette.

karl-catThen he did some weird app, that I’ve downloaded (off course), but I have no idea, what I’m supposed to use it for!

And latest news is, that the fitting rooms in his new London flagship, has been kitted out with iPads loaded with Karl-inspired photo filters, hoping that the customers will take a lot of #selfies and post them on online medias such as Instagram etc.

How can you not love this man!

Hotter by the minute!

My favorite sports brand has been Adidas since they started to colaborate with Stella McCartney (off course), but the brand is only getting hotter and more fashion by the minute!

The new collection for Topshop is so cool, it makes me want to jog around the entire city as long as I get to wear one of the amazing outfits <3

28 day challenge – 14 days has passed!

2 weeks has passed, and I do feel and improvement on my skin. I’m not sure if I see any difference, but my skin feels more calm, though a bit dry doing the daytime! The Cleansing Milk, The Micellar Cleansing Water and The Night Cream are my favorites of the four. The cleansing products removes all makeup without irritating the skin, while The Night Cream, makes me wake up as a new “improved” person – or at least a person with are smoother skin! So far I’m defiantly positive, though I might replace the Day Cream after the 28 days – I’m not sure yet!sensitive

I’m not a big fan of tattoos, but as long as you can wash it away, it might be time to try something new, and with star models such as Cara Delevingne, the tattooed-fashion-statement was bound to happen! London based CiatĂ© (one of my favorite nailpolish-brands) that has already revolutionized the way we use nailpolish in the form of the caviar collection (among others) are ofcourse behind this new nail trend – tattooed cuticles! I don’t know about you, but I think this is a trend I will have to try – as long as I can wash it off, when I get bored and something new comes a long 😉

Walk of Shame!

The way ahead is social media! There is nothing new in that, but if you doubt it, just check out the Moscow based brand “Walk of Shame” (WalkofShameMoscow on Instagram and Facebook)! The brand has no budget for Marketing, but is now getting attention from big fashion medias! The brand is one to watch – if not else, just for the cool name 😉

Back to school!

It seems like backpacks are the new black, so though I have spend the last 25 years hating them, maybe it is time to reconsider?

Here is a couple of bags that I actually think is kind of cool, depending on your style and statement:

Favorite Oscar dresses!

The Oscars are here and the best thing about is off course – the dresses! Here is some of my favorites through the last years:

oscar-amy adams oscar de la renta 2013 oscar-Cate Blanchett Valentino 2005 Oscar-Hilary swank guy laroche 2005 oscar-kate hudson atelier Versace 2003 oscar-michelle williams vera wang 2006 oscar-mila kunis elie saab 2011 oscar-rooney mara givenchy 2012 oscar-zoe saldana givenchy 2010

Campaign of the season!

I have a weakness for the cool-attitude of Alexander Wang – I always have and I probably always will, which is why, this is my ultimate favorite campaign for spring 2014! Marc Jacobs using Miley Cyrus doesn’t stand a chance next to the attitude of Wangs campaign! The statement of this campaign is clear – the Wang-girl really doesn’t give a fuck!

28 day Challenge!

I’ve been asked to participate in the NIVEA 28 day Challenge consisting of their new series of products to senstive skin like mine! As a fan of the old school NIVEA creme and with the promise of great results in no less than 28 days, I simply couldn’t resist!

So here I am – day one – right before I start my challenge!

Blue lips!

PAF’s Beauty Editor Marc, is not the only one to go for the “blue” shades when it comes to lipstick this season! It seems like the classic red has to leave the spotlight for a while to make room for the blue lipcolor! Though I’m impressed by Marc, and I actually kind of like the look from Ria Keburias show, I’m not sure, that this is a trend I’m ready to follow!

Should I go sheer?

I’m a big fan of Christopher Bailey and his work for Burberry! Though the AW collection has just been showcased at London FW, I’m still obsessing about the SS14 collection. The Prorsum collection is among my favorites every season and though I’m a bit scared to go there – I kind of wanna go sheer this year! I’m so intrigued by the collection, though I’m not sure that I have the figure to pull it of, and even if I should try, I’m not sure that Denmark is openminded enough for someone to walk the street in an outfit like this!

If I decide to go sheer, I definitely hope I will be wearing the Agent Provocateur Deborah skirt <3

Is Star Wars becoming fashion?

First LA based Rodart and now British Preen has been using Star Wars print in their AW14/15 collection! Now the question is, if Star Wars is becoming fashion? Though I’m especially facinated by some of the Rodarte dresses, I can’t really imagine myself wear Star Wars print, but maybe I will have to think again?

It’s out!

The Mulberry/Cara bag range is official!

The luxury fashion group finally unveiled a new collection of bags in collaboration with Cara delevigne.

The “Made-in-England” Cara Delevigne collection consists of three sizes bags with three different finishes and was launched by Mulberry in London today.

The name is inspirred by Cara, who has “Made in England” tattoed on her foot.

The British model, who has shot to fame, working for luxury brands such as Chanel and Burberry, is a regular face in fashion Magazines and billboards and has been staring the Mulberry adds for the last two seasons and is therefore the perfect choise for a collaboration.

Is there a Cara bag on the way?

Mulberry has just confirmed, that there’s a collaboration with our favorite model Cara Delevingne on the way! As everybody else – my guess is a “Cara bag”, to take over from the Alexa bag (I’m not gonna mention the Del Rey, cause though I’m a great admire of the artist, the bag was no big thing)! Lets hope that Cara (if it turns out to be true) will do better, and be just as cool, as “her” name sister!

My beauty favorites!

My favorite foundation is currently from the French brand La Roche Posay. it does wonders to my very dry and sensitive skin.

The Mac concealer palette: I use it when I have dark circles under my eyes, or if I have a pimple. It is also great for highlighting cheekbones!

Cool but cozy!

Pete Lamberto is a young hot photographer with an funky look and a cool personality. When he asked me for a new edgy hairstyle I immediately thought we should change his haircolor from black to pastel pink and do a fresh cut “Pot Style”

As you can see on the photos it is a longer process to bleach black hair and usually it is necessary to bleach 2 or 3 times before the hair is actually blond. After the first bleach the hair will normally be very yellow.

Finally after 2 hours of bleaching the hair was ready for an ash blond toner to neutralize the yellow pigment.

The foundation is now perfect and ready for final colour.

DANSK Press Brunch!

DANSK press brunch2 DANSK press day1

CPH Fashion Week just ended, but once again DANSK Magazine invited the fashion crowd to a press brunch, showcasing their favorites for the Autumn/Winter14-15 season! I already have my eyes on something for PAF, though I have to be patient – we need it to be summer before we go for another winter (hopefully)!

The Belt Trend, Winter 12/13

Photos by designers.

Many designers showed a wide range of belts in their A/W 2012 collections. Here are a few photos from Acne, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Haider Ackermann, Hermes and Versace’s A/W 2012-2013 collections.

Some outfits aren’t much to look at without accessories. That’s why designers have created numerous beautiful designs for belts, coming in different types, and flawlessly materialized them in their 2012-2013 collections as they are wrapped around the waists of models, complimenting the clothes they’re presenting on the runways.

Corset Belts

One of the classiest belts in 2012, corset belts are quite sought after. It made huge appearances in the catwalks and many like it!

Leather belts

Known for yielding belts, leather is a great 2012 trend. They’re created in various styles, designs and materials, guaranteed to do wonders for the waistline.

Fabric Belts

For belts, the fabrics must be functional. Other than leather, materials such as silk, satin, wool and suede are commonly used. Ranges of fabric belts are widely available in the market.

Jewellery Belts

This type of belt is embellished with the most gorgeous stones, beads, metals, clips, and rivets. They’re very voguish on elegant and dressy occasions such as evening parties and formal events.

Fur belts

Faux or genuine, fur adds a lot of trendiness to belts in this year’s seasons as its popularity grows among fad-loving wearers.

Skinny Belts

These belts are less wide, yet just as fashionable. The runways show thin, stylish, and unique belts, emphasizing its importance in the list of accessories for 2012.

Wide Belts

Designers have created many chic and eclectic belts that are bigger than normal belts. Their width rocks any outfit and upgrades every look to the highest level.

Unusual belts

Some fashionistas dare to be different. Along with their venture comes an urge to wear fresh and innovative pieces such as this type of beltto give a certain statement to their get-up. For 2012, the designs are interesting, eye catching and extraordinarily beautiful. Print patterns come in different forms and shapes, pretty floral prints, and wearer friendly materials.

Side Buckled Belts

Instead of being placed in the middle, buckles are elaborated on one side. Representing a huge belt trend for 2012, side buckled belts are produced in a massive scale to serve its growing commodity.

Velvet Belts

You’ll never go wrong with velvet as long as you wear it to the right affairs. Velvet belts for 2012 are sophisticated and modern.

What the Frog has been up to

Coffee with Pernille Sandberg at BankerÄt, early sale in Nue Notes (the line after almost 2 hours), see-through on top, draped on the bottom, Botanical Garden.

Summoning up some outfits. Everything’s black.

Botanical Garden for the second day in a row, breakfast with Vincent, the person I’m spending the most time with lately, coffee with Cille, Hanna and Vincent, pretty light before going to bed.

Blogging is at a minimum both here and on my own blog atm. simply because I am not home to make the posts. Instead I spend every second of my time after school in Copenhagen.
But what does she then do? Well, here is a little instagram-collage (something I normally don’t see as valid blogcontent, but bare with me for just one time), where you can see what I’ve been up to. Mainly just spending shitloads of money on public transport and cocoa.

Madeleine Vionnet. A designer you should know.

Diana Vreeland, for many years editor in chief of American Vogue and known for her acid pen, called her nothing less than the “most important fashion designer in the twentieth century.” Azzedine AlaĂŻa characterised her as “the source of everything that lives on in our subconscious.” And the legendary fashion journalist Suzy Menkes quite simply finds everything about her “utterly modern”. One thing is certain: among connoisseurs of fashion Madeleine Vionnet (1876-1975), member of the Paris haute couture scene of the interwar years, is considered “the mother of all couturiers.” For everyone else, Vionnet the fashion pioneer is hardly more than a name long since forgotten. Unjustly, for her artistic influence is still very much in evidence.

Although the grand master of fashion Paul Poiret claimed exclusive credit for getting rid of the corset, the young Vionnet was actually the first designer to banish the armor-like-garment from her creations. Madeleine Vionnet designed feather-light, softly draped clothing distinguished not merely by the absence of a corset. The adoptive Parisian also forged entirely new paths in her handling of fabrics. Vionnet not only experimented with cuts (she was the first to work consistently with triangular inserts, circular cuts, vents, cowl necklines and halter necks), but also, with her exceptional feel for form and pattern, raised women’s couture to a whole new level.

This fashion architects most important innovation was the bias cut, in which the fabric is cut and worked, not as usual in parallel lines, but at the bias, at 45 degrees to the direction of the thread. Vionnet was fascinated by classical antiquity and it’s draperies. She was inspired by the fall of the drapes in ancient greek robes.

Madeleine Vionnet, perhaps the most gifted fashion designer of the twentieth century, has found only a supporting role in fashions collective memory in comparison to her contemporaries Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli. Vionnet may have discovered the perfect cut, but she understood comparatively little about crowd-pleasing self promotion.

“I never made fashion – I don’t know what fashion is

I only make the clothes I believe in.”

– Madeleine Vionnet

The Fashion Frog in Paris!

Bonjour, dear PAF readers! I’m in Paris, the city of love and fashion.
Therefore I  figured “What would be more appropriate, than an outfit post?”, so above you can see what I’ve been wearing the last two days.

At the left shot at Jardin de Tuileries: knee-high stockings, beanie and lace skirt from H&M, jacket from Monki, creepers from Underground, bag from Forever21 and blouse from Weekday Collections.

At the right shot at Louvre: trousers and jacket from Monki, t-shirt from H&M, rucksack from Topshop, vintage belt, and Converse sneakers.
Really digging the high-street and the monochrome look, and pretty much everything I’m wearing are a few years old. As I mentioned in my introduction post, I’m a sucker for black, so it comes as no surprise to me, that I felt a bit uncomfortable in the look to the right. You’d might find that statement ridiculous cause it isn’ at all a colorful look, but it was enough for me. Ouch!

See you later in Paris! / The Fashion Frog

Impressionism and Fashion

Are you in Paris?

Then maybe you should visit the exhibition L’impressionnisme et la mode / Impressionism and Fashion in the MusĂ©e d’Orsay.

All Paintings by Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919).

Anxious to account for contemporary life, Impressionism favoured the representation of human figures in their daily surroundings and captured the “modern” man in his routine activities, both in cities and in the countryside.

Although they did not strive to render scrupulously the physiognomy, costume or habit, the Impressionists nevertheless accounted for the fashions and attitudes of their times. They achieved this through their keenness to consider the portrait as a snapshot of a person in his/her familiar settings, through their ability to renew the genre works from the double point of view of typology and topography and above all through their attention to the “daily metamorphosis of exterior things”, as Baudelaire put it.
With their aesthetic positions, the reality of men and women of the years between 1860 and 1880 and their clothes underwent an undisputable transfiguration.

Introducing The Fashion Frog

Picture of me by Molly GrÞnberg (link).

Hey dear PAF readers,
My name is Caroline, and I’ll be blogging here on the PAF blog once in a while, so I figured I’d better introduce myself first, so you get to know a little about me.
As just mentioned, my name is Caroline, I’m 14 years old and live in Denmark. My time, I spend in school, finishing my last year of ground school, and when I’m not sweating over the history books, I find myself wandering around the streets of Copenhagen, discovering new stores and taking in all the inspiration the people and the city provides you with when you let them.

I’m into fashion for god knows what reason, and I’m a sucker for all-black, playing with textiles and the trashy look. Biggest sources of inspiration: Copenhagen and the nightclub Simon’s. I think that says a lot.
I hope you will enjoy and read what I post here, and I also blog (more often) on my own blog TheFashionFrog.
